Our story / Our Activities with dogs
This is how I came to want to set up my American collie breeding, I had dreamed of having a real collie for my sheep, the various films of Lassie having not influenced me at all ^^'.
Bad luck when that time came... I was extremely disappointed and frustrated, because it was impossible to find my happiness in France at first. Because the American collies or the so-called classic type such as Lassie in the movies or the collies as they were before have disappeared from the French scene and have changed a lot since 1950 to give way to the model of the "modern" LOF collie that we all know today. Smaller, hairy, with a scary stop on the nose, and on the character side we can't say super brave, zero aptitude for the herd in general and even less the physical ability to go for miles like a good self-respecting sheepdog.... in short, not at all the collie of my childhood dreams.

A few years later, in 2019, I found a unique and first breeder in France, who like me loves the American Collie and thanks to her I therefore realized this dream. This is how Piper du Tamalasca, my first American collie arrived at the farm. This female dog triggered a real passion in me. I discovered how unique this bond between a shepherd and his dog is, how even outside of work in the herd, the American collie is a dog as exceptional as it is magnificent.
The idea is taking root slowly and surely, the COVID appears, agriculture is sounding the death knell, I clearly want to offer a brighter future to my children than what the agricultural world promises us. and also to do what I love. This is how at the end of 2020 I decided to set up our "livestock" and do additional training . My first import arrived, then the second and third... and Here I am 2 years later, ready to launch the professional breeding of 2023.
No LOF with us, since the American collie is not recognized in France, be aware of this, but stud dog that I have chosen puppies with American PEDIGREES, from UKC, AKC, the European or Argentinian club of the American collie, With parents DNA genotypes, tests on genetic diseases (DM, CEA, MDR, Pra, VW), Dysplasia. With real aptitudes for the herd, for sport and family life and only hearts in GOLD.
Cani-walk/Cani-Cross/Cani-MTB
The favorite sport of the whole family, like our faithful collies, we enjoy this sport where we can run, mountain bike or simply walk when we are with the puppies or tired.
Dogs love it, outings range from 1/2/3 km for young dogs to 10/15 km for trained dogs. It is an excellent sport that allows you to work on the endurance of dogs, and to keep their ability to cover kilometers like any good sheepdog. It is a very good socialization tool because there are not only outings in the countryside but also in town. In all cases dogs face various situations, unknown objects, passing game and it is really excellent for the balance of dogs and to create a relationship between you and the dog.
Sheep herd work
The work in the herd is something magical, it's a very exhilarating complicity. Well there are also moments of uncertainty where the sheep know how to take our heads and where we would eat well our cap fails to catch the lamb. and believe me the sheep are as stubborn as walls when they decide to.

In short, it's an activity that I love, that I had to interrupt temporarily and that I intend to resume with my collies, with a smaller herd (15 animals), when we are finally at home in 2023. Not so much for competitions since non-LOF dogs are no longer allowed to participate (which is a shame between us) but for fun and because it is the best way to assess skills and select dogs suitable for the herd.
